Newmarket
Race 1 No5 PNEUMATIC (Each Way)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Charles Bishop
Though too green to do himself justice on his Yarmouth debut, Churchill colt PNEUMATIC should be more streetwise and can put in a big earning run. Juveniles from this stable always improve with racing.
Race 2 No8 MAYFAIR STROLL (Nap)
Trainer: Charlie Hills – Jockey: Kieran Shoemark
MAYFAIR STROLL trounced Bonita B at Lingfield and then looked unlucky in the big nursery at Goodwood. She had nothing behind her two furlongs out, but stayed on strongly to be beaten just a length into fourth behind Aswan. Bonita B reopposes with a swing in the weights but may have to play second fiddle.
Race 3 No7 SINGLE
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Rose Dawes
SINGLE got going all too late after Speedo Boy was gifted her race at Ascot last month. Cutting back in trip to a mile and threequarters, the mare needs to creep into contention and hit the front as late as possible, and with the capable Dawes on board for the first time can swoop to conquer.
TRAMORE
Race 3 No1 RIGHT TURN
Trainer: Ger Lyons – Jockey: Colin Keane
First time cheek pieces can assist the ultra consistent RIGHT TURN to a career first success. The Kodiac gelding hit the woodwork in back-to-back races at Down Royal and Limerick before another good effort at Killarney. His trainer appears to have found a very good opening for him here.
Race 5 No1 ZERO TEN (Nap)
Trainer: Emmet Mullins – Jockey: Jamie Heffernan
Dual purpose horse ZERO TEN is enjoying life on the level, picking up a Galway maiden in decisive fashion to add to his successes in three hurdles, two chases and a bumper. At eight he’s the old man of the party, but needs to be respected in this first handicap assignment.
