UK Racing Best Bets – Sunday 3 November 2019

Neil Morrice brings us all of his best bets and tips from UK Racing at Carlisle and Huntingdon on Sunday 3 November 2019.

Carlisle Best Bets

Race 2 – No 2 MURATELLO
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies
Jockey: Daryl Jacob

MURATELLO hails from a yard that landed this with Count Meribel last season and this old fashioned chasing type is well tutored for his first run over fences. Although flopping on his final start over hurdles at Sandown he can be forgiven as he was over the top. He’s subsequently strengthened up into a perfect specimen for fences and in spite of meeting some well regarded foes should run well.

Race 4 No 1 LOSTINTRANSLATION
Trainer: Colin Tizzard
Jockey: Robbie Power

My tip for the top this winter, LOSTINTRANSLATION has the wherewithal to graduate into a live contender for the Cheltenham Gold Cup. He finished second in the big novice chase at the Festival and then won the equivalent race at Aintree impressively and has the size and scope required to operate on any of the tracks offering suitable races through the season. Carlisle’s stiff finish should be right up his street.

Huntingdon Best Bets

Race 2 – No 6 SILKSTONE
Trainer: Pam Sly
Jockey: Kieran Woods

SILKSTONE didn’t get a yard over a mile on the Flat but has the racing style to handle going twice as far over hurdles. His locally based trainer has had a couple of decent juveniles through her hands in the past and this 80-rated 3yo has schooled satisfactorily.

Race 4 No 1 DEYRANN DE CARJAC
Trainer: Alan King
Jockey: Tom Cannon

Even though it was back in May that DEYRANN DE CARJAC scored in May, he’s delighted his trainer since coming back into full training and can make his presence felt at a big price in this very hot novice chase. Erick Le Rouge and Pym rate big dangers but might not be able to stop the selection from following up.
