BATTLE FORCE showed very good improvement in his last start over six furlongs on the Vaal Classic course. He didn’t get the best of starts, but challenged strongly all the way to the line. The son of Act Of War looks progressive and can go one better this afternoon.

FACTOR FIFTY won a good race over 2600m on the Inside course last time. She has won twice, finished second twice and third twice from eight starts on this course. Luke Ferraris has a decent record aboard the 5yo mare and they should find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.

HEART STWINGS is the value bet on today’s card. She has placed in her last four starts. She finished 1.5 lengths behind DANCE CLASS in her penultimate effort and is 2.5kgs better off at the weights. That should be enough for the tables to be turned. She is likely to have her own way in front today and may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.
