Magic Tips Best Bets

TOP BET
Race 2: THAROOS(1)
Jockey: Callan MURRAY – Trainer: Mike de KOCK

THAROOS was bitterly disappointing in his first try beyond sprints and hardly surprisingly his conditioner quickly reverts to sprinting today. The imported colt is plagued with issues but he showed smart potential prior to that latest effort and can easily bounce back to form here. He is c & d suited and should take a power of beating with blinkers fitted for the first time. The Mike de Kock inmate has his peak showing and is well drawn.

Race 4: MY ANGELFACE(4)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

MY ANGELFACE is plagued with issues but she has shown some fair form to date and she meets a weak field today. She shows pace and has experience on this circuit and the imported filly could get it right. She has been fancied in all three of her runs to date, indicating that she is highly rated by her yard. Today’s trip should suit her well.

Race 5: SPUTNIK PLAIN(3)
Jockey: Weichong MARWING – Trainer: Alec Laird

SPUTNIK PLAIN is improving and he produced a smart turn of foot before staying on gamely for a career best effort a fortnight ago. He meets similar opposition today and this switch to this shorter run-in could make the Ideal World chestnut colt really tough to peg back. The Alec Laird inmate is well drawn at gate 3.

Race 9: FIELDMARSHAL FEN(2)
Jockey: S’manga KHUMALO – Trainer: Sean TARRY

FIELDMARSHAL FENIX is way better than his recent form indicates and he should have plainly finished much closer but for traffic issues in his last outing. The Tarry inmate faces similar opposition today and can take full advantage of the handicapper’s generosity after he was docked two pounds in his rating after that latest effort. The four-year old gelding finished runner-up in his only c & d run.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 6: SABRE DANCE(12)

Jockey: Muzi YENI – Trainer: Roy MAGNER

SABRE DANCE continues to plummet in the merit ratings and he showed signs of life with a pleasing last run in similar company at the Vaal. The runner-up of that start Street Flyer beat today’s top weight TOKYO DRIFT subsequently to boost the formline and this inmate from the Roy Magner yard has definite hope from his good draw. Furthermore, he gets the expert services of Yeni and has a handy galloping mass.
