Winning Form Best Bets

Race 1: CRASSUS(8)
Race 2: BAROUCHE(10)
Race 3: GUNS AND ROSES(10)
Race 5: BLUE DIAMOND ROAD(2)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: IMPERIAL PAST(4)
Jockey: Chase MAUJEAN – Trainer: Joe SOMA

A wide open maiden event featuring a quartet of first timers who need to be closely monitored in the betting market. The solitary representative of the fairer sex RADIANT CUT must be afforded most attention as she is a well-related daughter of Var who hails from the Johan Janse van Vuuren stable. She is favourably drawn.

TOP BET
Race 2: SUCCESFILLY(1)
Jockey: Piere STRYDOM – Trainer: Gavin VAN ZYL

SUCCESFILLY hasn’t scaled the heights of her classy debut in two subsequent runs but she met much stronger rivals when 4th over this c & d last time out and that formline is certainly worth following. In fact, the runner-up De Nimes beat male rivals to exit the maiden ranks next time out. This daughter of Var has the speed to track over from her unfavourable draw and she could take some beating with Strydom in the irons.

Race 3: GUNS AND ROSES(10)
Jockey: Gavin LERENA – Trainer: Geoff WOODRUFF

GUNS AND ROSES was quietly fancied when she had a promising sprint debut in a strong field at Turffontein nearly one month ago. She ran on well for 3rd after an awkward start and should have plenty more to offer over this extended trip today. The daughter of Trippi is favourably drawn on her track debut.

Race 5: AZA ARROW(3)
Jockey: Sherman BROWN – Trainer: Chris ERASMUS

In stark contrast to the prior low-key handicap, this event should be run at a true pace and an exciting finish is expected. AZA ARROW continues to be thereabouts at similar levels and he should certainly relish the strong gallop. The only entrant from his yard on this card runs well for workman- like jockey Brown and the pair should give a very good account of themselves.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 6: TORA TORA(5)

Jockey: Juan-Paul VAN DER MERVE – Trainer: Scott KENNY

The Misty Roller formline on 30/03 is worth following in this moderate handicap and trainer Scott Kenny’s solitary charge on the day, TORA TORA, represents good each/way value. The six-year old had some useful form at this level prior to his last few starts but he should have finished much closer but for traffic issues in stronger company in the above-mentioned event. The bay gelding continues to steadily drop in the merit ratings and his recovery was eye-catching in that last effort.
