Race 7: ORCHESTRATED(10)

Magic Tips Best Bets

TOP BET
Race 1: GLANTO(11)

Jockey: Fortune A – Trainer: Kotzen G S

GLANTO was disappointing when he tired into 4th on his first venture around the turn in the Cape last time. He had an eye-catching penultimate run down the straight in a strong field and that formline has worked out really well. The Glen Kotzen inmate should go very close if he has travelled well.

Race 2: KING’S FIRE(6)
Jockey: Danielson R – Trainer: du Plessis R

KING’S FIRE forms part of a decent coupling from the local yard of Renate’ Du Plessis and this filly has been ultra-consistent to date. She has a promising record on this track and over this distance and runs well for Danielson.

Race 3: CAPE FLYAWAY(5)
Jockey: Fortune A – Trainer: Snaith J S

CAPE FLYAWAY returns to the scene of her only career triumph and she romped home by more than six lengths on that occasion. The Snaith inmate has shown decent form since and she was caught late over the minimum distance on the polytrack at novice level in early Spring. She has surprisingly been dock- ed six pounds in her rating and will be cherry-ripe on her third run after the layoff. The daughter of Windrush is better treated on these handicap terms and she should go close.

Race 8: SHAUNTREL(2)

Jockey: Cheyne G – Trainer: Greeff A C

SHAUNTREL didn’t seem suited to the polytrack when she was comfortably beaten by JAY’S FAVOUR last time out but she will be an entirely different proposition on the grass today. She beat subsequent winners in her penultimate run and has won 2 of her 3 c & d runs. The five-year old bay mare still has room for improvement and she is a serious contender in this field.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 5: SOCIETY ROCK(9)
Jockey: Khumalo S – Trainer: Bremner Y

SOCIETY ROCK has produced two fair local runs on the polytrack and he should be most effective on his PE grass debut today. The six-year old gelding is still enjoying his racing and he drops slightly in class. His pole barrier position is a definite plus and he should be involved in the finish.
