Pakenham Tips (Race 4-9)

Race 4
FORLIAH is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys, but she finished a close up second last time out over this c&d when running on strongly. She jumps from gate six and looks to be the one that they all have to beat here. POLANAISE is a 4yr old filly who has put in two solid last runs, the latest when finishing third over 2100M. She could be the biggest danger to the top pick. REDEEMED is a 5yr old mare who steps up from the mile of her last start, but she was staying on well that day, suggesting the extra ground will be to her liking. She has the widest draw, however, which will not help her cause. PASSAGGIO showed good improvement last time out over the ten furlongs. He raced up with the pace that day and if suited to the extra ground, he should make his presence felt today.

Race 6
This looks to be a tricky opening leg of the Jackpot and some caution is advised. The tentative top pick goes to ENCANTO who returns from a lengthy 46-week break and has not had the benefit of a barrier trial, but who showed marked improvement to win at this venue over 1500M before the rest. He is drawn in gate two and if not too much in need of the run, he should be right up there when they hit the wire. ARZANI steps up from six furlongs of his last outing, but he was staying on well that day and should appreciate the extra ground on offer today. SPIRIT OR LAGER was making good late progress in his last start over this trip and should be involved in the finish here. SURFLINER has cracked pole position and gets a set of blinkers fitted for the first time today. If these have the desired effect, he should be respected in this line-up.

Race 7
As with the previous race, finding the winner here is no easy task. ONEIRA is a 4yr old filly taking on males, but she showed big improvement last time out over seven furlongs, finishing just 1.8L behind the winner. She gets a mid-field draw and should give the boys a good run for their money. FAOLAN also showed improvement in his last outing over the seven furlongs, finishing 4L behind the victor. He raced up with the pace that day and could prove difficult to overhaul in the closing stages of this contest. KING KABUTO was slightly disappointing last time out over this distance, but he gets 2kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice and should be considered for all bets. PRIDE OF PYINGERRA showed significant improvement in his last run and if he has continued down that same path, he could be a factor here.

Race 8
SHE’S SENSATIONAL is a 4yr old filly taking on boys, but she put 2.3L between herself and the balance of the field when winning last time out over this distance. She won from the jump all the way down to the wire that day and should employ the same tactics here, starting from gate two. EXETER is seldom far off the action and finished fourth last time out over six furlongs. He finished strongly that day and looks a big threat to the former. TRILLI is a 4yr old filly who has put in two solid efforts at this venue and although drawn the widest of them all, she could be dropped out of it in the early stages and should be doing her best work late. COLLIVER steps up in trip from the five furlongs of his last two starts and could do better as a result.

Race 9
With the scratching of one of his main rivals, the way may be cleared for REBEL RACER to record his second career victory. He was only just denied the win last time out over a mile and gets blinkers fitted for the first time. These should help him concentrate all the way down to the finishing post. ZOUNIQUE has consistent formlines to his credit and looks to be the immediate threat to the top choice. He finished second last time out over 1500M at this track and is likely to put in another honest performance today. IT’SAYESFROMME won a head in his latest run over seven furlongs on this surface and from his handy five draw, he should be right up there in the mix. RAKAU WHERO was a tad disappointing last time out, but a repeat of his penultimate effort when third over the mile, only 1.2L behind the winner would bring him into the equation here.

Goal Coast Tips (Race 5-9)

Race 5

GENUINE AL won from jump to wire on debut over this distance and could be almost anything. He is drawn three and although taking on stronger here, he would have learnt from the outing, and with the natural improvement that can be expected, he may be able to complete a quick double. ROTHABYE showed marked improvement when second last time out over six furlongs, just one length back. He was friendless in the betting markets that day and if he is able to repeat that effort, he looks to be a danger to the top pick, despite have a wide nine draw. YABA DABL DOYA is seldom far behind the action and is likely to turn in another honest performance today. PURE INDULGENCE is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys, but she is consistent and will have 3kg taken off her back thanks to her claiming apprentice.

Race 6
Three 4yr old fillies look as if they can dominate the finish here and complete the trifecta. The first choice goes to ARROW EXPRESS who had her consistency rewarded with a win last time out over five furlongs. She will have her cause aided by having 3kg removed from her allocated weight courtesy of her claiming apprentice. Although UNO AMOR finished fifth last time out over six furlongs, she was only 2.1L behind the winner. She has to negotiate a wide eleven draw, but she should be picking off the frontrunners in the dash down to the line. PRINCESS JUDE won her maiden race last time out over six furlongs and has a handy three draw. She meets stronger company here, but she may well be up to the task on hand. PATCHE GIFT won a head last time out over five furlongs. He jumps from wideish gate nine, but on the plus side, he will have a 3kg claiming apprentice in the irons.

Race 7
SET THE BAR HIGH stayed on well when finishing three lengths back last time out over this nine-furlong journey. He has a handy four gate to start from and a repeat of that last effort would see him right up there in the mix. MOMENTUM TO WIN won comfortably last time out over the c&d and despite being drawn thirteen out of fifteen, he should be involved in the finish today. CASURINA STAR is a 4yr old filly taking on boys, but she was making good late progress last time out when fourth over the c&d, 2.5L behind the victor. She should ensure that the males know that they have been in a race. LADY SOLERNO is a 6yr old mare who showed good improvement last time out when third over the c&d. She will have 3kgs taken off her back thanks to her claiming apprentice and this could count of this journey.

Race 8
INQUIRY won his penultimate start over six furlongs and then finished third last time out over the same distance. He jumped awkwardly that day and did well to finish as close to the winner as he did. He starts from a mid-field draw and if getting away as he should, be may prove difficult to topple in this field. LEGAL COUNSEL has put in two solid runs over six furlongs. He takes a step up in distance and is faced with a wide ten draw, but if taking to the trip, he could be a threat to the former. LE MATTAN showed some improvement last time out over seven furlongs when returning from a 26-week absence. If not in need of one more run, he should be respected here. HIGH DEGREE is an 8yr old mare who does not seem to have lost her zest for competing. She drops in trip for today’s outing and from gate three she should be involved in the finish once again.

Race 9
EXPERT EYE is a 3yr old filly taking on males, but she goes for her hat-trick after two wins over 1300M and the manner in which she has dealt with the opposition when completing her double would suggest that this is very much on the cards. She is drawn out at ten, but she should be suited to this extra distance. DYNAMIC THINKER is drawn one outside the former and has the early gate speed to move across without using up too much energy. He won his penultimate start over six furlongs and is another who will be at home over the seven furlongs. TAVIS TOWN won by a head over this distance on debut. He has pulled gate eight, but would have come on with the experience under his belt and could threaten the top two selections. ANNABETH is a 3yr old filly who has finished second in her last two runs over sprint distances. She jumps from draw five and should be included in all bets.
