She was in turn just over six lengths clear of the 3rd placed runner and has plenty of scope for improvement. The daughter of Var is favourably drawn and can go one better.

The Darryl Hodgson yard holds a decent hand in this contest and Richard Fourie’s ride PEONIE ROCK can get home first. This daughter of Rock Of Rochelle has produced four smart displays to date and she reverts to sprinting today. In fact, she posted her career-best performance over this c & d second time out and still has plenty of room for progress.

The classy TEVEZ is extremely well treated by the weights in this pinnacle stakes event as he takes a huge dip in grade. He produced an excellent last effort in a Grade 1 over this c & d on Met Day and the 3rd placed finisher Carry On Alice has subsequently won at the highest level in Gauteng. This inmate from the Mike Bass yard won’t be fully tuned-up today but he is blessed with top ability and should still take all the beating.
Race 7: OLYMPIC POWER(3)
The Playboy Buddy formline on 16/04 features prominently in this maiden contest and those runners could dominate the outcome. OLYMPIC POWER has made smart improvement since being equipped with blinkers and he was momentarily held up before staying on for 4th, beaten 2.50 lengths at the wire in the 2500m event referred to above. He has a bit to find with the runner-up TROPICAL HEAT on that run but could prefer this slightly shorter distance and now gets the services of a top jockey. He is drawn alongside the latter and did account for the same rival in his penultimate run behind Jeremy over this c & d.

ROMAN PERFECTION is fast reaching a competitive merit rating and she was making steady progress from a poor draw over a mile, six weeks ago. She had some useful form prior to that and jumps from the best draw today. The three-year-old bay filly was docked two pounds after that last showing and she should be competitive in this line-up.
