Magic Tips Best Bets

Top Bet
Race 3: ICON KING(2)
Jockey: Richard FOURIE – Trainer: Mike STEWART

ICON KING
is a versatile and promising sort who ran on well for 2nd in his first run after being gelded recently. The usually speedy son of Rebel King showed a different side to his game and he will prefer the extra 100m. He should continue to progress and must hold strong claims.

Race 4: MTOROSHANGA(11)

Jockey: Aldo DOMEYER – Trainer: Paddy KRUYER

The slow-starting MTOROSHANGA was withdrawn when bolting the course recently but returns to action 11 days later, indicating that all is well with the Ashaawes colt who has shown some fair ability. He ran on well for 3rd over six furlongs second time out and the runner-up of the event, Copper Force boosted the formline with an easy subsequent victory. The Paddy Kruyer inmate will have more to offer.

Race 5: OVERSHADOW(2)

Jockey: Piere STRYDOM – Trainer: Justin SNAITH

This is a competitive seven-furlong handicap where the Snaith charge OVERSHADOW seeks to complete a four-timer. He reeled off his hat-trick with a game victory over his stablemate Star Chestnut at Durbanville last time out. The Trippi gelding was penalized five pounds for his exertions but he still has lots more to offer. His conditioner will have him fit and well despite the eleven-week break.

Race 7: MOGOSTAR(3)

Jockey: Sean VEALE – Trainer: Dennis DRIER

The filly MOGOSTAR was super-impressive when she thrashed some decent rivals on her local debut over this c & d recently and the KZN visitor looks a smart sort in the making. She will be fitter now and although she takes on much stronger male rivals on her handicap debut, the Drier inmate could be worth following.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 9: PHOENIX RISING(5)
Jockey: Sihle CELE – Trainer: Ronnie SHEEHAN

PHOENIX RISIN
G may have needed his fair comeback run from a wide draw earlier this month and he will be sharper today. He has found betting support in his last two runs, the penultimate of which he stayed on strongly for 3rd behind the promising subsequent winner Edict Of Nates over the mile. The son of Querari could relish this rise to ten furlongs and he can bounce back to form. The top selection is his yard’s only entrant on the card.
