The Drier inmate should enjoy this further rise in distance and can stake a serious claim in this ordinary field.

LAVENDER BANK had two quality sprints over the minimum trip but she is crying out for this ground and her conditioner has wasted little time in obliging. The daughter of Overlord will be retained by Marcus and she should make further progress.
Race 7: ENTISAAR(1)
Jockey: S MOODLEY – Trainer: M DE KOCK
The highly talented ENTISAAR returns to the scene of her finest triumph yet and she could make a winning comeback on her handicap debut. The imported daughter of More Than Ready captured a Grade 1 event for fillies over this c & d exactly one year ago and though her form this term has been decent, more has been expected from the Mike de Kock inmate. She may have a few niggles but is loaded with class and the 4kgs apprentice allowance makes her an enticing proposition as she drops heavily in class today.

Race 8: LEISURE TRIP(4)
Jockey: K DE MELO – Trainer: A NEL
The Cape resident LEISURE TRIP is above-average and she made a bright local debut when running on well for 2nd behind the decent Elusivenchantment (runs in prior race) despite being slow into stride over this c & d, five weeks ago. The incredibly well-related daughter of Trippi has huge scope for progress and despite the resultant three-pound penalty, she still appears ahead of the handicapper’s assessment and could take some beating back at this venue. Furthermore, she drops in class.

This is a most interesting handicap and with many of the three-year-olds shouldering big masses, they will be severely tested. However, in the absence of a natural pacesetter, a likely false pace should materialize and an upset is possible. The classy SPANISH CAPTAIN is capable when racing from or near the front and top jockey Anton Marcus could make the highly rated son of Captain Al dictate his own terms, particularly as he often pulls hard in the early stages. This should enable the bay to settle in running and his class could shine through. He will handle the mile and should be better without blinkers.
