Magic Tips Best Bets

TOP BET
Race 1: FIRST CRUSADE(5)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Dean KANNEMEYER

FIRST CRUSADE was unfancied when he produced a pleasing debut over six furlongs on this course recently. He ran on steadily for 2nd behind a smart type and had some fair sorts behind him. The Kannemeyer inmate should make natural improvement and could take a power of beating despite dropping in distance.

Race 2: KATEECADOR(8)
Jockey: Warren KENNEDY – Trainer: Gavin VAN ZYL

KATEECADOR had two promising sprints over this c & d and the well-related bay filly should continue to progress with experience. She was 2nd best in a strong field in open company three weeks ago and has strong claims of going one better against her own age group today. The daughter of Toreador is her yard’s only entrant on the card.

Race 4: QUEENS DIAMOND(6)
Jockey: Ashton ARRIES – Trainer: Mark DIXON

QUEENS DIAMOND has been costly to follow since her quality debut over this c & d but she has produced two pleasing comeback runs after changing stables and returning from a long absence. Furthermore, the form of her last start was boosted when her conqueror Ideal Winter and the runner-up Sitia won their next starts. The 2.5kgs apprentice claim should assist the Bankable filly who will be cherry-ripe.

Race 7: ONE MAN SHOW(1)

Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Dean KANNEMEYER

The three-year-old ONE MAN SHOW should have finished a little closer in a competitive c & d handicap in his comeback run three weeks ago but can make amends at this lower level today. The Kannemeyer inmate concedes weight all around but will strip much fitter and should still take all the beating with top jockey Delpech retaining the ride.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 3: TOM COLLINS(16)

Jockey: Sean VEALE – Trainer: Dennis DRIER

TOM COLLINS was completely unfancied when he produced a fair debut behind a super-impressive fellow newcomer over this c & d three weeks ago. The Drier inmate was slow into stride but recovered to be up with the pace before finishing 2nd best. He should make natural improvement and could be a threat for his in-form yard.
