Race 3: ONE OF A KIND(4)
Jockey: Callan MURRAY – Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

ONE OF A KIND
had legitimate excuses for her uncharacteristically shocking last effort at the Vaal. She had promising form prior to that, including a smart 2nd over this c & d in her penultimate run and the 3rd placed finisher Spring Indeed has won subsequently to boost the formline. The Mike de Kock inmate would have benefitted from the short break and she can bounce right back to her best today.

Race 4: KAHAL’S LEGACY(5)
Jockey: Muzi YENI – Trainer: Tyrone ZACKEY

There are a few form runners in this marathon contest which could lack a decent gallop. KAHAL’S LEGACY is improving quickly and he finished well for 2nd on the tight inside track over nine furlongs seven days ago. His pedigree suggests that he will relish every bit of today’s extra distance and the longer run-in should suit him perfectly. The bay colt should produce a huge display on his peak showing.

TOP BET
Race 5: SILVER STRIPE(1)
Jockey: Randall SIMONS – Trainer: Geoff WOODRUFF

SILVER STRIPE is a high-quality stayer in the making and she showed an exceptional turn of foot to win her last start comfortably over further on this track. She is 4kgs worse off with the runner-up BONDIBLU after the resultant maximum eight-pound penalty but the Woodruff inmate has plenty more to offer and she can follow-up. The drop in distance won’t be an issue for the well-related daughter of Silvano. That, coupled with the likely sedate gallop are concerns for the latter who still has her work cut-out for her to reverse the formline.

Race 7: SPANISH KISS(6)
Jockey: Muzi YENI – Trainer: Paul MATCHETT

There are many very speedy types in this competitive five-furlong handicap and the likely blistering pace could play right into the hands of SPANISH KISS. The inmate from the Matchett yard probably found six furlongs too far for her last time but she finally got back to her best with a cracking penultima- te run over this distance. She continues to gradually drop in the merit ratings & is a huge contender in this class. The obvious worry is how she will take to blinkers.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 8: SANTIBURI(1)

Jockey: Randall SIMONS – Trainer: Robbie SAGE

A decent field of three-year-old fillies line-up for this graduation contest where another fierce battle is expected. SANTIBURI didn’t seem to enjoy the sticky conditions in her poor last feature run but she had a fair penultimate showing over this c & d at the same level. The imported bay showed promise prior to that, including a last-gasp victory over the classy Safe Harbour over this c & d in her post maiden run. She is only 1kg worse off at the weights with the best weighted ZAAKHIRA but her experience around the turn should prove to be crucial and she can bounce back to her best form.
