CATALUGA has reached a competitive merit rating and her resurgent recent form is testament of that. She will be cherry-ripe and can pull this off despite her wide draw. Her yard has been in great form recently.

The grey filly SHE’S A GIVER expectedly bounced back to form on her return to the Highveld last time. She went down narrowly to male rivals at the Vaal that day and would have benefitted from the 13 week absence. The daughter of Philanthropist has much class on her side and she is extremely well treated at the weights in her comeback run today. She could enjoy this tight circuit, having shed her maiden tag on a similar track in KZN.

This is a tricky start to the Pick 6 where the speedy sorts could dominate the outcome. The extremely well-related SEVERINO has shown ability throughout his injury plagued career and he seemed badly in need of his comeback run. It also didn’t help that he broke through the front of the stalls but could be an entirely different proposition today. The son of Var will strip fitter & he need only reproduce his smart c & d effort in a strong field three starts ago to be involved in the finish. He has all the gate speed to overcome his wide draw.
