Montpellier will be looking to build on back-to-back wins when they take on a faltering Toulon side on Sunday the 7th of October.
Giants of the French game Montpellier and Toulon will square off at the GGL Stadium in the final fixture of Round 7. The hosts have managed to arrest a horrid run of form by winning their last two games while Toulon’s poor start to the season continued last week as they lost their fourth game of the campaign.

Montpellier
Vern Cotter’s men are finally starting to pick up results. They managed to bag a mammoth 66-15 win over Toulouse in Week 5 and followed that up with a far less impressive but equally pivotal 20-23 over new boys Perpignan in Week 6. The successive victories have seen Montpellier move up to sixth place on the log.
While Montpellier have been a bit shaky on the road this term, they do have a solid home record beating La Rochelle and Toulouse by comfortable margins at the GGL Stadium.
Toulon
The 2018/19 season is fast becoming a nightmare for the mega-rich club who have only managed o register two wins from their opening six fixtures. That is simply not good enough for a side packed with so much talent, and one that has spent so much money on acquiring this talent.
Last week saw Toulon again devoid of ideas on attack as they could only muster up one try during their 28-8 defeat to Clermont. They really look blunt on attack with their only real threat being former All Black Malakai Feikitoa, who is carrying the side at the moment.
Verdict: Montpellier 2/13
I can see Montpellier taking this Toulon side to task. The visitors simply have no potency when they have the ball, while Montpellier have shown they can be devastating on their day. My money is on the hosts taking this one by 15 points or more.
