Matsatsantsa moved into third in the DStv Premiership standings – off second by an inferior goal difference – after holding cross-town rivals Sundowns to a 1-1 draw.

Hunt admitted that it was difficult for his team to compete with the richly assembled Sundowns squad when competing for honours.

“I’m actually disappointed because I thought at times we just didn’t have the touch needed to get out, and look at the last movement of the game, if he stays onside we’re through on goal,” Hunt said post-match.

“So that’s just inexperience and things we need to learn. It’s frustrating, but I’ve been doing this for 30 years, so I understand it.

“I mean, we can’t compete with Sundowns, so we’ll just try to do the best we can.”

With being equal on points with Orlando Pirates, the battle for the final CAF Champions League qualifying place looks likely to go down to the wire with Cape Town City and Stellenbosch FC also contenders.
