SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt is bemused by the fact he isn’t able to be on the bench for his side’s CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
Matsatsantsa made it through the qualifying rounds and are now gearing up for the group stages.
CAF rules state that head coaches must at least hold either a Pro Licence or a CAF A Licence, while Hunt has a UEFA A Licence
Roscoe Krieling and Grant Johnson sat in for Hunt in the 4-1 aggregate win over Gaborone United in their qualifier and will again deputise for the head coach in the next phase.
Hunt said in the Citizen: “It’s very frustrating, I sat on the bench for the last 25 years and all of a sudden I can’t sit on the bench.
"My daughters have got CAF C [License]. They’ve never kicked a ball in their life maybe they can sit on the bench."

“I don’t know, it’s disappointing but we’ll try and get the conversion done or whatever I have to get done in November, so we’ll see.
“I don’t know why it has changed. I mean I’ve got a UEFA A License you know and I have been sitting on the bench. I was in the semi-final and quarter-final of the Champions League at (Kaizer) Chiefs two years ago and all the years at Wits and SuperSport I sat on the bench, played all the games and group stages and it was never a problem.
“But something happened, one association saying bugger you and the other one saying bugger you and I don’t know. That’s not my argument. That’s what’s happened I think.”
