With Cape Town City and Royal AM taking part in their CAF commitments, we once again have just six matches in the DStv Premiership to look forward to this weekend.

Sundowns regained their lead at the top of the table last weekend, ending Golden Arrows’ four-game unbeaten streak.

Elsewhere, Orlando Pirates returned to winning ways after humbling TS Galaxy at Esgodini. Kaizer Chiefs dropped down two places and are now just two points away from the relegation zone after failing to live up to their favourite tags against Marumo Gallants.

The Glamour Boys now face their former head coach as Gavin Hunt’s SuperSport United make the trip to FNB Stadium.

Saturday 17 September

11/10 Chippa United | Draw 21/10 | Marumo Galants 5/2 (15:00)

Chippa United moved out of the relegation zone with an incredible hard-fought victory over AmaZulu in Durban. That unprecedented win came soon after the club departed ways with Daine Klate as head coach.

The Chilli Boys now host a Marumo Gallants side who come off the back of a draw with Kaizer Chiefs, which could have turned into their first win of the campaign if decisions had gone their way. Despite being winless, Gallants have drawn six of their seven ties so far.

My money is on another stalemate.

12/10 Golden Arrows | 2/1 | Swallows 24/10 (15:00)

Golden Arrows’ four-game unbeaten run came to an end last weekend after losing 2-1 to Mamelodi Sundowns. They gave a decent account of themselves and can be excused for going down narrowly to the champions.

Swallows have been decent at times this term, but are yet to pick up their first win on the road. From their three ties, they’ve only scored once. This presents itself as a great opportunity for Arrows to return to winning ways.

I fancy the hosts.

12/10 Sekhukhune United | 2/1 | Stellenbosch 24/10 (17:30)

Sekhukhune United are rooted to the foot of the DStv Premiership after earning just six points in seven matches. They’ve also been very shy in front of goal, scoring five goals this term.

Stellenbosch moved back into the top eight after ending their three-game winless run with a 2-1 win over Swallows away from home. They’re once again on the road and will fancy their chances against the worst-performing team in the division.

I’ll be backing the Away Win/Draw Double Chance at 11/20.

12/10 Kaizer Chiefs | 2/1 | SuperSport United 24/10 (20:00)

One of the biggest let downs this season has been the performances of Kaizer Chiefs. The Glamour Boys are two points off the bottom of the standings and have won just twice this campaign, with both victories coming on home soil.

Somehow, Amakhosi are yet to concede a goal at the FNB Stadium this term. SuperSport United are on an incredible three-game winning streak, beating a high-flying Richards Bay at the time, as well as Sundowns and Maritzburg United, who hadn’t lost a home game before Matsatsantsa came to town.

Arthur Zwane’s future is in doubt with fans growing increasingly frustrated with his coaching methods. I can’t see SuperSport United losing this one, with the Away Win/Draw Double Chance tipped at 11/20.

Sunday 18 September

6/10 Sundowns | 43/20 | AmaZulu 6/1 (15:00)

Sundowns are slowly starting to find their feet and have moved to the top of the DStv Premiership standings.

They’ve had to dig deep in a couple of their matches but still found a way to win five of their eight encounters, scoring a staggering 14 goals in that run.

AmaZulu are dropping in the standings after failing to win any of their last three games. Usuthu recently lost at home to Chippa United, which is inexcusable going into a fixture of this magnitude.

Back the home side at all costs.

PREVIEW: The Spanish LaLiga returns in style this weekend

11/10 Richards Bay | 21/10 | TS Galaxy 5/2 (17:30)

Richards Bay are looking like the team they were when they started the new season after winning in back-to-back ties. Their home form does cause a bit of concern, where Richards Bay have scored just the single goal, whilst also conceding just once as well.

TS Galaxy have the best defence in the league, shipping in three goals. The Rockets did, however, lose their last game to Orlando Pirates.

A low-scoring matchup is on the cards, so Under 2.5 Goals could prove the banker in this fixture.

PREVIEW: The Bundesliga is open this season

TREBLE @ 9/2
Golden Arrows Win 12/10
Stellenbosch Win/Draw 11/20
Sundowns Win 6/10
