Mamelodi Sundowns 1/4
Draw 9/2
Black Leopards 9/1
Sundowns just have to win their game and hope Kaizer Chiefs fail to collect maximum points if they are to stand any realistic chance of lifting the league title for a third season running. On the other hand, Black Leopards are looking to avoid relegation/promotional play-offs, making this a hugely significant encounter on both ends of the table. The hosts should be too strong here and I foresee them easily collecting maximum points.
Chippa United 15/10
Draw 2/1
Golden Arrows 19/10
There’s only a slight chance of Chippa United sliding into PSL relegation/relegation play-offs while Golden Arrows who’ve been dreadful since the return of competitive football have nothing to play for as they can’t get relegated or finish in the top eight. The visitors are winless in their last nine games and I don’t think they can get something out of this fixture as well. Put your money on the Chilli Boys.
AmaZulu 33/20
Draw 2/1
Highlands Park 33/20
AmaZulu are also in danger of slipping into the dreaded play-off position heading into the last game of the season, however Usuthu are unbeaten in the last three games which is a good sign in this run in. Highlands Park finally snapped a four-match winless run when they beat Cape Town City 1-0 in midweek. Peter Shalulile will be looking to outscore Pirates’ Gabadinho Mhango as they’re tied on 15 goals in the top scorers’ chart. A draw is on the cards.
Baroka 8/1
Draw 4/1
Kaizer Chiefs 3/10
This is a huge game for both teams as Baroka who recently shocked title-chasing Sundowns are looking to avoid the play offs while a Kaizer Chiefs victory would almost certainly guarantee them the league title. Having lost to Wits, Amakhosi redeemed themselves when they beat nine men Chippa United 1-0 in midweek. It’s not as straightforward as the betting suggests but I’ll also lean towards Chiefs winning.
Bloemfontein Celtic 15/10
Draw 21/10
Maritzburg United 18/10
Bloemfontein Celtic have been one of the impressive teams since the return of football and will be looking to keep their top eight position with the likes of Stellenbosch snapping at their heels. John Maduka might rest some of the players due to the upcoming Nedbank Cup final agains Sundowns.
Maritzburg United fought so hard against Pirates the last time out but lost the match at the death and will be looking to make amends against possibly a weakened team. Eric Tinkler’s men should win this one.
Bidvest Wits 1/3
Draw 7/2
Polokwane City 8/1
This will be a sad game for both teams involved as Bidvest Wits are playing their last game! The club will be moving to Limpopo next season and will be renamed Tshakhuma while bottom-placed Polokwane City are probably bidding farewell to the elite league after their relegation was pretty much confirmed in midweek. Only a mighty miracle and something of an eight-goal swing in their favour could save them which is theoretical. Both teams should be demoralised but Wits’ quality could see them through.
Orlando Pirates 5/10
Draw 3/1
Stellenbosch 5/1
Orlando Pirates have finally won two games in a row after a very long time with joint leading goal scorer Gabadinho Mhango getting on the scoresheet. He will be looking to outscore the likes of Peter Shalulile, Bradley Grobler and Samir Nurkovic to claim the Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot award. Stellenbosch have massively improved in the bio-bubble with three draws and two wins in the last five games. This is a tough one to call and I’ll back a share of the spoils.
Cape Town City 21/10
Draw 21/10
SuperSport United 13/10
This could go either way between two teams who often meet in cup finals. They have both won three of their respective last five games. Coming into the match, it’s SuperSport who should be more confident after a thumping 4-1 victory over 10-men Baroka in midweek while City lost 1-0 to Highlands Park. It’s sensible to back SuperSport here.
Treble @ 4/1
Sundowns Win 1/4
Chiefs Win 3/10
Maritzburg Win 18/10
