Race 3.
NEWBURY disappointed last time out over this distance, but has subsequently won his barrier trial over fourteen furlongs and could be the one to side with here. MARKWOOD stayed on well when finishing third in his last outing over seventeen furlongs and seems to be the biggest danger to the former. PENTELLIGENTSIA returns after nearly two years off, but has had three barrier trials and should be considered today. REFEREE has not been too far off the winner in his last three starts and has had the benefit of a barrier trial.

Race 4.
More than half the field in the race will be having their first outing and as is always the case in these types of races, a keen eye should be paid on the betting markets to get some indication as to what the various stables think about their chances of winning on debut. Of the raced runners, ELEMENTARY HOLMES may prove to be the best. He ran fifth on debut over 1100M and would have learnt from the experience and with the natural improvement that can be expected, he should be right up there when they reach the line. The same comment applies to ROCK THE RING who finished third on debut over six furlongs and will jump from a handy draw. LADY WITH CHARM is a filly taking on the boys, but she showed good improvement last time out over this c&d and should be involved in the finish here. PACIFIC RIM has his first run without having had a barrier trial, but will start from gate three after the late scratchings.

Race 5.
ALSVIN won his last start over six furlongs when returning from a 19 week break. He fell in his previous outing so that run is ignored. He could be the one that they all have to beat today. MOI CHOUX showed plenty of toe and then stayed on well to win his last outing over five furlongs. He looks to be the immediate danger to the top selection. GOOD THERAPY returns from a 15 week rest. He drops back in trip from his last start over six furlongs, but he has cracked pole position and should be considered today. BLUE TYCOON has his first run since a 20 week break and has not had a barrier trial. He is drawn one outside the latter and may be able to fill a minor place.

Race 6.
An open looking race in that the top four selections have only just won their maiden race. The first pick goes to BLESS HER who is a 3yr old filly taking on males, but she has consistent formlines to her credit and did win over this c&d last time out. She will start from gate four and could complete the double today. DESIGNER CHEF was rewarded for finishing second in his two races prior to him winning last time out over the same trip. MONSTERS INC won on debut over 1100M and will come into draw eight with the late scratchings. He would no doubt have come on from the run under his belt and could be almost anything. Any betting support for him should be respected. SHARKBRIGHT is a 5yr old male who put 3.3L between herself and the rest of the field when winning her last outing over 1100M. She should be right up there in the mix.

Race 7.
Another wide-open contest here and some caution is advised. The tentative top choice is ECHO BOOMER who is seldom far behind the action. She is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys and has a wide draw to overcome, but she was making good late progress last time out over this c&d and should give the males a good run for their money. ISLAND DANCER steps up from 1300M of his last start when 2.3L behind the winner and may do better as a result. SEAFIELD ROAD was just 2.1L behind the victor in his last outing over this c&d and should be included in all bets. LAST BLING is a 4yr old filly who steps up to six furlongs. From her handy draw four, she should be right up there in the firing line.

Race 8.
ANNANICOLESNITZ is a 5yr old mare taking on the boys, but she took a bump close to home when finishing second last time out over 1500M. She lost the subsequent objection and will be hoping to make amends here given a trouble-free passage. CASH FOR DIAMONDS is a 6yr old mare who was staying on in the closing stages in her last start over 1700m. She should be considered a big runner in this line-up. DARGO has his first run since a 13 week rest and takes a significant drop in distance from his last outing over twelve furlongs prior to the break. He has not had the benefit of a barrier trial, but if returning fresh, he could trouble the top two selections, despite his wide draw. FIORENTE’S GIRL is a 3yr old filly who got up to win her last start in the shadow of the post. She will be hoping to complete a quick double today.
