This victory has significantly improved the Chilli Boys standing, moving them from a relegation-threatened position to ninth place in the DStv Premiership table.

The goals scored by Orlando Pirates loanee Bienvenu Eva Nga and Sinoxolo Kwayiba were crucial in securing the win against the Soweto giants.

This win follows another impressive 2-0 win at home against Cape Town Spurs, indicating a positive trend in United’s recent performances.

Talking to SABC Sport after the game Thabo September was full of praises for his players following their back-to-back victories at home.

“When we came in, we said, if you beat top teams and we lose to bottom teams that’s relegation,” said September.

“But if we fight hard against the bottom teams and we’ve got players that are playing for the national teams like Goodman Mosele and Stanley Nwabili.

“They can’t be choosing games, the mentality needs to be right and that has been good, we worked on the mentality and the players responded well,” he added.

The 41-year-old mentor went further to give credit to his team for what they have achieved in their recent results.

“It was a good performance from the whole team, two goals and a clean sheet at home. It’s a good statement.

“I’m proud of the players with what they have done, we are scoring goals and I think at home we scored eight goals in four games.

“That is a good turnaround with three clean sheets and conceding only one that is something we are proud of and we want to keep it like that towards the end of the season,” he concluded.

United will travel to Mbombela Stadium as they face TS Galaxy in the Nedbank Cup quarterfinal clash on Sunday.
